By downloading, accessing, or using the MAIA AI mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Nature of Service
MAIA AI provides an artificial intelligence-driven platform for health tracking and medical document analysis.
- For Informational Use Only: All content, including cycle predictions and prescription summaries, is generated by AI for educational and informational purposes only.
- Not Medical Advice: MAIA AI is not a licensed medical professional. The App does not provide medical diagnoses, treatment advice, or professional healthcare services.
2. No Doctor-Patient Relationship
Your use of the App does not create a doctor-patient relationship. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health providers with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or the results of a prescription scan. Never disregard professional medical advice because of something you read on MAIA AI.
3. User Responsibilities & Accuracy
- Input Accuracy: You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you provide (e.g., period dates).
- Scan Verification: Prescription scanning (OCR) can fail due to poor lighting or handwriting. You must verify the AI's summary against the original physical document.
- Device ID: Your account is tied to your Device ID. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
Data Retention Periods:
- Health & Cycle Data: Stored for 24 months from last activity, then automatically deleted
- Medical Scan Data: Stored for 12 months, then automatically deleted
- Device ID & Preferences: Stored for 6 months after last app usage
- Crash Logs: Stored for 90 days for debugging
Your Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data at any time:
- In-App: Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete My Data (processed within 24 hours)
- Email: Send request to privacy@maiaai.com with your Device ID (processed within 7 business days)
Upon deletion, all personal data associated with your Device ID is permanently removed. Backup copies are purged within 30 days.
5. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any emergency medical situations (Call emergency services instead)
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the AI models or scrape data from the App
- Use the App to store or transmit illegal or malicious content
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MAIA AI, its developers, and AWS/Cloud partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from:
- Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated summaries
- Missed period notifications or incorrect cycle predictions
- Any medical complications arising from reliance on the App's information
- Data loss due to device failure (users should export important data)
7. Modification of Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of MAIA AI (including the free tier or specific features) at any time without notice.
8. Intellectual Property
All software, designs, AI prompts, and branding are the exclusive property of MAIA AI. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal use.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
